BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 34-year-old San Bernardino man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a grand theft that occurred at a Barstow business.
The incident happened on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 10:07 a.m., when Barstow Police officers were dispatched to a business in the 2700 block of Tanger Way.
Responding officers were informed that a suspect had stolen several thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise and fled the scene in a waiting vehicle, according to a written statement from the Barstow Police Department.
Through witness statements, officers obtained detailed information about the suspect and the vehicle involved. The vehicle’s license plate number was entered into law enforcement databases and shared with nearby agencies.
Later the same day, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle in the city of Carson. The suspect, identified as Anthony Williams of San Bernardino, was detained.
Authorities recovered the stolen merchandise inside the vehicle. Williams also had an outstanding warrant for PC 487(a) – Grand Theft.
Barstow Police officers traveled to Carson to take custody of Williams, who was subsequently booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. He faces charges for PC 459 – Burglary, PC 487(a) – Grand Theft, and the outstanding warrant.
