San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Operation Firewall Concludes With 101 Arrests, 16 Children Rescued

COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A two-week enforcement operation targeting child sex crimes resulted in 101 arrests and the rescue of 16 children throughout San Bernardino County.
According to a written statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, “Operation Firewall” was conducted from Sunday, April 19, 2026, through Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The operation focused on identifying and apprehending people accused of exploiting children through the internet. The department is an affiliate of the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.
The operation was led by the Crimes Against Children Detail and supported by personnel from 15 patrol stations across the county.

According to the department, arrests involved allegations including possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, arranging to meet with a minor for sexual purposes, sending lewd photographs to a minor, lewd acts with a minor, and violations of sex offender registration requirements.
“Beyond the arrests, the most significant impact of the operation was the identification and rescue of 16 live victims, who have been removed from environments of further abuse and exploitation,” officials said.

The Sheriff’s Department said it remains committed to protecting children and encouraged parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activity.
“The Sheriff’s Department encourages parents and guardians to remain vigilant regarding their children’s online activity,” officials said.
