(VVNG.com) – As most 8-year-olds are running, playing and living carefree lives, young Odie Garcia is battling Lymphoma. Lymphoma is the third most common type of cancer found in children. Odie is currently being treated at Loma Linda Hospital in the city of Loma Linda but at this time is home with his family.
At one point, Odie had expressed his wish to one day becoming a Law Enforcement Officer. The Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation, a Law Enforcement based wish granting charity, was made aware of young Odie’s wish. They then contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to help plan a special surprise for this young boy. When the idea was proposed to Sheriff McMahon, he was not only willing but honored to meet this young man. On May 26th, Sheriff McMahon, along with his wife and several other officers went to meet Odie at his San Bernardino home. The officers showed up with armfuls of toys and took him for a ride in a cop car.
