UPDATE: Head-On Collision Claims Life of 54-Year-Old Adelanto Woman on Ridgecrest Road
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 54-year-old Adelanto woman was identified as the person killed in a Thursday morning traffic accident on Ridgecrest Road in Victorville.
It happened at about 6:45 am, on August 15, 2024, near Chinquapin Drive and Landis Drive.
The two-vehicle collision involved a white 2017 GMC Yukon and a white 2024 Toyota Camry.
Socorro Cuevas, the spokeswoman at the Victorville Police Department said, based on preliminary information, the two vehicles appear to have collided head-on.
Despite life-saving measures, the driver of the Toyota, identified as Gricelda Ponce Sandoval, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the GMC, a 52-year-old male from Victorville, was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Ridgecrest Road was closed between Green Tree Blvd and Dayton Street for several hours and reopened at 12:25 p.m.
