Rent Too Much to Lift For Anytime Fitness; Closes One Victorville Gym

VICTORVILLE: (VVNG.com) – Anytime Fitness on Armargosa Rd. in Victorville will be closing down permanently in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Gym owner Jeremiah Ibrahim said the abrupt closure is due to failed negotiations about the lease agreement with the landlords, who are private owners from Irvine. Ibrahim stated the lease was signed back in 2007 and went into effect in April of 2008, but is no longer suitable for the current economy.

After losing a significant amount of money from his own pockets, and no movement of the lease terms, Ibrahim made the tough decision to close down the gym. Current members have the option of keeping their membership and going to another Anytime Fitness location or emailing Ibrahim for a refund. The next closest location is listed as 12044 Dunia Rd. in Victorville. To inquire about a refund, send an email to management@hidesertfitness.com with a subject line of “Membership Cancellation”.

“We appreciate everyone being a part of Anytime Fitness and I want to thank everyone for being here. For the last six and a half years we couldn’t have been here if it wasn’t for the members. I just want to thank the current members, and the past members, for being involved. We were very involved and knew a lot of them personally, and this is very tough,” stated Ibrahim.

Ibrahim and his staff have been working on contacting 1,600 members since early Monday morning. They will be spending the night contacting customers to notify them of the sudden closure.
