Help keep Apple Valley beautiful by participating in Community Clean Up Day

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. — Community service organizations, schools, churches, clubs
The Recreation Department is accepting registration for Community Clean Up Day. Registered teams and individuals are provided with clean-up supplies and assigned an area to clean. In return, participants get event T-shirts and lunch while supplies last. Volunteers must sign up in advance to get supplies, assignments and fill out a liability waiver.
The Code Enforcement Department will be stationed at Lion’s Park from 9 a.m. to noon to accept yard waste, household tires and bulky items such as mattresses, appliances, and furniture free of charge. No rims will be accepted and commercial dealers may not participate. The state vehicle code limits the number of tires that may be transported in a vehicle to nine.
Televisions, computer monitors or other hazardous materials will be accepted at the Town’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility at 13450 Nomwaket Road between Powhatan and Ottawa roads from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents may also bring up to four bankers box-sized containers of materials for shredding service at no cost.
The twice annual Clean-up Days are made possible with the help of Burrtec, Sparklett’s, Splattered Ink, Take Pride in America, and Keep California Beautiful.
