Register for Aquatic Classes at This Year’s Swim Fair

APPLE VALLEY: Keep your children safe around water by signing them up for swim classes through the Town of Apple Valley Park and Recreation Department at the annual Swim Fair on May 17.

Apple Valley residents may sign up beginning at 7:30 a.m. The line will form between Town Hall and the Police Department at 14955 Dale Evans Parkway. Signups for non-residents will begin at 10 a.m. or whenever the Apple Valley line is empty.

“Some classes sell out quickly, so signing up at the Swim Fair is the best way to insure your spot,” said Recreation Coordinator Andy Shoup. “The first sessions begin May 19!”

Only a parent or a legal guardian can register children for classes. Proof of residency is required and can be verified with legal identification and a utility bill. Enroll carefully as there are no refunds, transfers or credits offered for any swim classes.

The schedule will be available for review on May 1. In addition to group swim lessons for all ages, the pool offerings also include private and semi-private lessons, advanced stroke development and junior lifeguard. All classes will be held at the beautiful Apple Valley Civic Center Park Aquatic Center that features a junior Olympic sized pool with crystal clear water that is heated to a comfortable temperature for year round use.

For additional information about swim classes, open recreation swim times, the annual water festival and other aquatic activities, call the Parks and Recreation Department at (760) 240-7880, stop by Town Hall to pick up the latest recreation guide, or view it on line at www.AVRecreation.org.
