Ranchero Road Closure Begins October 14 for Bridge Demolition Over California Aqueduct

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Beginning October 14, Ranchero Road will be closed to traffic between Seventh Avenue and Cottonwood Avenue as crews begin the demolition of the bridge over the California Aqueduct.

This closure will effectively halt all vehicle travel across the aqueduct.

Additionally, a hard road closure will be implemented at the intersection of Kern Avenue and Eleventh Avenue, where Ranchero Road crosses the aqueduct.

Residents living within the closed section will still have access to their homes; however, vehicular passage over the aqueduct will not be permitted.

This construction project is expected to take at least 10 months, during which a new bridge featuring two lanes in each direction will be built.

Detours will be clearly marked, and motorists are encouraged to utilize Main Street or Summit Valley Road to connect to Highway 138 for access to the I-15 Freeway. Travelers should anticipate delays and allow for additional time during their commutes.

It is advisable to obey all posted signs, personnel instructions, and speed limits while navigating the area near the construction site.
