HESPERIA:(VVNG.com)- One person is dead following a multi vehicle traffic collision on Sunday, September 14, 2014. At approximately 8:45 p.m., Sheriff’s dispatch received numerous calls reporting a three vehicle accident in the area of Topaz Avenue and Ranchero Road in Hesperia.
Per scanner traffic, two patients were delayed and were transported by ground ambulance to local hospitals for treatment with non-life threatening injuries. According to reports it took firefighter’s approximately one hour to extricate a passenger from a severely damaged vehicle. The critically injured patient was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.
The San Bernardino County Coroners was requested confirming a fatality due to the collision.
“My son passed it on his way home, he said it was two cars and one truck involved, he said it looked pretty bad, he had seen chairs Gatorades and food all over from truck,” said Pauline Espinosa Vega.
As of 1:00 a.m., Monday a hard road closure remained in place and traffic was being detoured at Ranchero Road and Escondido while the Major Accident Investigation Team conducts an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. If you are heading east on Ranchero Road as an alternate route you can take Escondido to Mesquite. At this time its unknown how long the roadway will be closed.
