Public Input Sought for Bear Valley Road Improvement Project

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – On Aug. 17 at 5:30 p.m., the City of Victorville will host an information session regarding its project to improve portions of Bear Valley and Amargosa Roads. The information session will be held in Conference Room D at Victorville City Hall, 14343 Civic Dr. in Victorville.

The road improvement project will focus on two areas: Bear Valley Road from Mariposa Road to 300 feet west of Amargosa Road, and Amargosa Road from El Tio Pepe to Applebee’s on Restaurant Row. Work is expected to begin in mid-September and end in mid-November.

In addition to repairing deteriorating sections of the roadway, the City will install ADA-compliant sidewalks; repair curbing; upgrade traffic signals; and add a right-turn lane from southbound Amargosa Road at the intersection of Bear Valley Road.

During the project, traffic patterns will be altered and lanes will be reduced, but motorists will be permitted to travel through the construction zone to access local businesses. As with the City’s recent construction project on Bear Valley Road, two lanes will be open for traffic during the day and one lane will be open at night. Traffic signals will remain operational at all times.

Businesses located in the work zone and members of the community are invited to the information session on Aug. 17 to ask questions and learn more about this road improvement project. For additional information, please call (760) 955-5158.
