Adelanto, Calif. Dec. 12, 2016– The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs is proud to announce the High Desert YardBirds in Adelanto, California. The team will begin play at Adelanto Stadium beginning next year.
The teams colors will be Black, Orange, Red, and Yellow. The Teams website can be viewed at http://www.HighDesertYardBirds.com The Pecos League will partner with the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds who will manage/oversee gameday operations of the team.
The SBC Fair is excited and proud to partner with the Pecos League to bring the return of quality, professional baseball to the High Desert. “The High Desert has a long tradition of professional baseball, and the expansion into the Pecos League is the next step in continuing that legacy. We look forward to building the Yardbirds into one of the league’s top franchises and continuing to provide baseball fans in the High Desert an exciting, fun professional sports opportunity, close to home said San Bernardino County Fair C.E.O. Geoff Hinds. The Fairgrounds will oversee gameday stadium operations and partner with the Pecos League to provide in game an on field, non baseball entertainment.

The High Desert YardBirds will finalize their coaching staff soon. The YardBirds will also be hiring game day staff and sales staff. The Pecos League is an independent professional baseball league which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Kansas, Arizona, West Texas and Southern Colorado. Pecos Teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either.
The Yardbirds will open the 2017 season in Bakersfield on May 26, 2017. Spring Training will begin in Adelanto on May 19, 2017.
