Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders Caucus to be Held in Victorville

VICTORVILLE-( Whether you are planning to vote for Clinton, Trump, Cruz, Kasich, or Sanders the thought of a Congressional District Caucus coming to your stomping ground may be a bit exciting.

In a recent announcement by the California Democratic Party, Victor Valley College was named as a site for a Congressional District Caucus for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

The Caucus will be on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Victor Valley College Student Association Building, located at 18422 Bear Valley Road in Building 44. Doors will open at 2:00 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Voters registered as Democrats, that reside in the 8th district will be allowed to vote as long as they arrive prior to the meeting time. The 8th district includes the eastern Desert regions of California including Inyo County, Mono County and most of San Bernardino County.

A Congressional District Caucus decides the pledged delegates that go to the Democratic National Convention to represent Sanders in the June 7th primary.  Victor Valley College along with the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop, California have been selected by Sanders campaign for the 8th Congressional District.

The sparsely populated 8th District’s largest city is Victorville, which made Victor Valley College a prime location for the Caucus. Victor Valley College officials welcomed the request to use the campus that was just last week, deeming it a great way to get students and staff to get involved.
