Preliminary 6.4 earthquake outside Ridgecrest rocks the Victor Valley

VICTOR VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A large earthquake 87 miles from Victorville sent huge shockwaves across the Victor Valley on this 4th of July Holiday.

Preliminary reports indicate the earthquake was registered as a 6.6 magnitude quake 11 miles outside of Ridgecrest that hit at 10:33 am. 

At around the same time, aftershocks measuring 4.0 and 3.5 were reported in the same area, according to the USGS. 

Fire stations in the Ridgecrest area reported various degrees of damage to their firehouse and power outages.

Highway 178 near Trona Valley, there was also reports of debris and rocks in the roadway. A few residences in the areas closest to the epicenter have reported damage.
