HESPERIA: On April 29, 2014 at approximately 4:12 a.m., Hesperia Deputy Maviel Gordon initated a traffic stop on a green 1998 Honda Civic in the area of Main Street and I Avenue.
A records check of the license plate revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Ontario the previous day. The driver failed to yield for the patrol unit which had activated it’s lights and siren. Deputy Gordon followed the vehicle, which travelled through Hesperia on city streets running stop signs and traffic signals along the way.
The suspect, for over 10 minutes, continued in the stolen Honda on surface streets with no regard for public safety. The pursuit ended when the vehicle struck a bush in a field in the area of C Avenue and Lime Street. The driver, who was the sole occupant, ran from the disabled vehicle. Hesperia deputies tracked the suspect to a nearby apartment complex where he was apprehended and safely taken into custody. Neither the deputies or the suspect were injured.
The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Miguel Ricardo Aparicio, a documented Pomona area gang member.
Deputies discovered Aparicio was on CDC Parole for PC245(d)(1), assault with firearm on peace officer and was listed as a career criminal. Miguel Aparicio was also determined to be a parolee at large with a no bail warrant for violating the terms of his parole. He was arrested and booked at HDDC(High Desert Detention Center) for PC496d(a). possession of stolen vehicle; VC2800.2, felony evading; PC186.22(a)participation in criminal street gang and is being held on $100,000 bail and a no bail parole hold.
