HESPERIA: A portion of Main Street is shut down between Cottonwood and Maple following a single vehicle non-injury traffic collision.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., on Saturday a vehicle described as a white in color Honda collided into a power pole knocking it down. The pole was completely sheared at the base and only hanging by wires, according to scanner traffic. The unidentified male driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Southern California Edison has been requested with an unknown ETA. Public works will also be responding to assist with the hard road closure. It’s unknown how long the portion of the roadway will be closed for. As an alternate route you can take Yucca Street or Juniper Street.
At this time the exact cause of the accident is unknown. More information will be updated as it becomes available.
