Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Rent Payment Thieves

APPLE VALLEY: (VVNG.com)- On June 17th Victor Valley News Group members were made aware of a theft that took place at Parker Properties, located on Highway 18 just east of Central off Niabi Road in Apple Valley.
Parker Property is a real estate business that has a drop box located in front of their location where renters can drop their after hours rent payments in. They also accept and many times recommend online payments to clients who can not make it on time to walk in payments to the business location during business hours.
Based on surveillance footage the suspect was driving a white 95-98 ford Taurus that has a missing hubcap on the back drivers side. The suspect in the video appears to be a medium to light complected male, with short dark hair, mid to late 20’s, he has sleeved tattoos and at the time of the theft he was wearing a Nor Cal shirt. According to those who reviewed the surveillance tape, there was one or possibly two other suspects in the vehicle while this theft was taking place. The suspect(s) left the location and returned about two hours later to attempt to possibly retrieve more rent payments.
The suspect got away with one check and one money order, which were both written to the rental company. The tenant who wrote the check was notified and was able to stop payment on the stolen check but the thieves managed to somehow cash the money order the following day. A report was later made to Money Gram by the purchaser of the money order. In a Victor Valley News post regarding this incident, Kristin Roddy said, “ The (home) owner needs to make a mortgage payment also, it is not their fault either. We have to do everything we can in the best interest of everyone involved. In cases like this our owners do everything they can to help.”
If you recognize this person or have any information that may lead to the arrest of this suspect you are urged to contact the Apple Valley Police Department at (760)240-7400.
