Police search for suspect in Victorville carjacking

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) —  Authorities are searching for a suspect who carjacked a man and dragged him with the vehicle as he sped away, officials said.

It happened on Monday, September 11, 2018, at about 12:39 am, in the 16100 block of Tawney Ridge Lane in Victorville.

The victim, a 45-year-old male, flagged down a California Highway Patrol Officer saying he was carjacked by an unknown male.

“Deputies responded and found the victim had been standing outside of the vehicle when the suspect approached him and drove away in the vehicle,” stated Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez.

As the suspect drove away, the victim hung on to the car and was dragged for a short time.

Victorville deputies responded and conducted a search of the area for the vehicle, a 1995 white Honda Odyssey and the suspect, however, neither were located.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Rodriguez said the victim was unable to provide deputies any description of the suspect other than it was a male.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the Victorville Police Department at (760)241-2911.
