Police Pursuit Ends in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- On Thursday, August 20, 2015 at approximately 4:50 P.M., Apple Valley Deputies called in a failure to yield in the area of Highway 18 and Dale Evans.

Per scanner traffic, the vehicle described as a gray Nissan Altima was occupied by three occupants and the driver was suspected of driving recklessly or possibly driving while under the influence.

A sheriff’s helicopter was called in to assist ground units with the pursuit.

Deputies pursued the vehicle for several miles. At certain times driving at unsafe speeds and blowing through stop signs.

The vehicle crashed near the intersection of Quinnault Road and Del Oro Road causing the vehicle to go airborne. The hood of the vehicle came loose and covered the windshield. The driver was unable to see where he was going and eventually came to a complete stop.

The pursuit eventually terminated in the area of Del Oro and Navajo at about 5:04 P.M.

With guns drawn the suspects were compliant and all three were detained and taken into custody.
