
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) Police are investigating a shooting near Restaurant Row in Victorville after a man was shot in his back Thursday night.
At 9:56 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Desert Escape Plaza in the 11000 block of Amargosa Road reference a shooting near the Staples.
Victorville station deputies responded and located a black Honda parked on the landscaping area with a man inside.
A bullet hole on the rear passenger side of the vehicle was very visible. Deputies confirmed the male had been shot in his back, scanner traffic reported.
The shooting victim, was alert and conscious as he was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital, and later airlifted to a trauma center.
According to unconfirmed reports, the victim was shot while in his vehicle at a nearby stop light.
Deputies focused their investigation on Desert Escape between Amargosa Road and Mall Blvd. as they searched for bullet casings.
It’s unclear if officials have made any arrest.
