APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The work of a vigilant neighbor led police to the arrest of two men wanted for stealing an air conditioner unit from an Apple Valley home Tuesday morning.
It happened on August 14, 2018, at about 8:47 am, when the reporting party witnessed a couple of men stealing the air conditioner from a house in the 24000 block of Cuyama Road. The resident, a 67-year-old woman was not home at the time of the theft, officials said.
According to a sheriff’s news release, the suspects, later identified as Eddie Ray Johnson, 47, and Kenny Michael Huson, 30, both residents of Apple Valley were seen by the witness lingering around the property and touching the AC unit.
“When the two men drove away from the house, the witness saw the air conditioner was gone. The witness was able to get the California License Plate number off the 1999 maroon Chevy Suburban they were driving and provided the information to Deputy Sandles, along with descriptions of both suspects,” stated the press release.
The vehicle was registered to a residence in the 13200 block of Yakima Road in Apple Valley. Deputy Sandles went to the residence and located Johnson and Huson, the truck and stolen air conditioner.
