Police arrest homeless woman after assaulting 2 people on Bear Valley Rd in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Victorville Police arrested a 26-year-old homeless woman after she attacked two people with rocks, officials said.
On October 22, 2019, at about 8:40 am, the suspect, Wendy Tejada, 26, was near the Home Depot in the 15100 block of Bear Valley Road.
Victorville sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said Tejada had rocks in her hands and threatening people.
“At one point she dropped the rocks and assaulted two people by hitting them in the face. One of those victims pepper-sprayed Tejada to protect herself. Tejeda fled the immediate area and picked up a boulder nearby,” stated Rodriguez.
Deputy J. Attlesey arrived and saw Tejada throw the boulder at another crowd of people.
“When she saw the deputy, she ran and Attlesey pursued on foot,” said Rodriguez.
Tejada was detained and arrested. She was booked at HDDC for assault with a deadly weapon and is currently being held at West Valley Detention Center.
According to public arrest records, Tejada is currently ineligible for bail for violating/revoking her probation PC1203.2. She’s also charged with WI109080(C)(2) Fraud to Obtain Aid 400+.
Tejada is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom later today.
