Police arrest 18-year-old after grab and run theft at Lacoste in Barstow

BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An 18-year-old suspect wanted from a recent grab and run theft was taken into custody after leading Barstow Police officers on a pursuit, officials said.
It happened just before noon on Monday, December 23, 2019, at the Lacoste Outlet Store located in the 2700 block of Tanger Way in Barstow.
According to a Barstow Police Department news release, officers were alerted of a theft that had occurred at Lacoste Outlet Store.
“The suspects had entered the store, grabbed a large amount of clothing, and then fled out of the store into a red Hyundai sedan. The vehicle then sped out of the area and officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle failed to yield to the officers prompting a pursuit,” stated the release.
When the suspect’s vehicle came to a stop, two of the occupant fled on foot and were eventually apprehended after a foot chase, officials said.
The suspects were identified as Ray Linder from San Bernardino and a 15-year-old juvenile who was also a resident of San Bernardino.
Ray Linder was arrested and booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department jail in Barstow and the 15-year-old juvenile was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall in Apple Valley. Both suspects were charged with PC 459 – Burglary and CVC 2800.2(a)-Felony Evading.
