(VVNG.com)- Here’s a list of schools/districts that will be closed on Wednesday, August 10th, due to the Pilot Fire.
APPLE VALLEY:
Schools will remain closed on Wednesday, August 10, as we anticipate a similar weather pattern for tomorrow. The prevailing winds and the behavior of the Pilot Fire leaves many Apple Valley Unified district schools with unhealthful air quality in the afternoon. Therefore, schools will remain closed for another day on Wednesday, August 10.
The weather forecast is calling for reduced wind on Thursday and Friday. We plan to RESUME school on Thursday, August 11 with an EARLY RELEASE SCHEDULE. The district has procured sufficient face masks for all students for both Thursday and Friday. Please monitor the website for further updates.
HESPERIA:
Hesperia Unified School District schools will remain closed tomorrow, August 10. We are continuing to monitor county and Air Quality Management reports and will post the latest information on our website and Facebook page.
ORO GRANDE:
Riverside Preparatory School will remain closed on Wednesday, August 10, due to ongoing concerns about air quality and smoke from the Pilot Fire. All school offices and activities will remain closed as well.
We thank you for your understanding and support during this time. Safety is always our first priority and we hope all students and their families, as well as staff and their families, are safe and protected from the Pilot Fire.
We are hopeful that school will resume as normal on Thursday, August 11, but due to the unpredictability of this situation, we will be posting updates daily. Elementary and high school pictures will be rescheduled for a later date.
