PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — On Friday, November 8, 2024, at approximately 6:27 PM, a pickup truck carrying six occupants overturned multiple times and traveled about 200 feet down a ravine on Phelan Road, east of Aster Road.
The incident involved a dark gray Toyota Tacoma that was heading westbound when it left the roadway, descended into a ravine on the north side, and ultimately landed on its side.
San Bernardino County Fire units responded to the scene, where they found all six occupants still inside the overturned vehicle. Firefighters assisted the individuals in exiting the truck and getting to safety on the roadway.
After assessing their conditions, three of the occupants were transported by ground ambulances to nearby hospitals. Their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Initially, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers investigated the crash as a potential hit-and-run. However, further investigation revealed that another truck was involved in the accident, but it was not classified as a hit-and-run.
The Victorville California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the official cause of the accident.
