PHELAN:(VVNG.com)- A teenager from the town of Phelan has been arrested for the murder of 58-year-old Louis John Merrigan lll (Bart).
According to authorities, on Monday, August 24, 2015, at 10:45 p.m. Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station Deputies were called to the 12000 block of Hacienda Road in Phelan reference a male adult found unresponsive, outside on the ground, next to a motorhome on the property.
A death investigation was conducted and the cause or manner of death was not immediately known.
The Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail assumed the investigation on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Investigators determined a 15 year old male resident of Phelan killed Merrigan on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
On Thursday, September 3, 2015, a search warrant and Ramey warrant were served at the suspect’s residence in Phelan during the early morning hours and ultimately the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Although one arrest has been made, this investigation is ongoing and detectives are actively following additional leads.
