Phelan Parolee Arrested for Shooting Out His Neighbors Vehicle Windows

PHELAN-( San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department officials said that on Thursday, October 8th at about 9:00 p.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to the 11800 block of Yucatan Road for the report of an attempted assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the victim, his neighbor, identified as 50-year-old Lance Pierce shot the windows out of the vehicle that he was driving. When calling, he reported being out of the vehicle and hiding.

Pierce was believed to still be in his home at the time of arrival causing deputies to secure the area and evacuate neighboring homes. A Sheriff’s helicopter was called to the area to assist.

Just after 11:20 a.m., per scanner traffic, a reporting party called to report suspicious circumstances of a shirtless man hiding behind a tree in the area of Goss and Nugget Roads. He said he asked the man if he was hiding from the helicopter and the man said he was not sure.

The Sheriff’s helicopter was able to locate Pierce using the reporting parties location information. A Sheriff’s patrol unit arrived at the location placing Pierce under arrest at about 11:25 a.m., He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center where he is being held without bail on a parole hold. According to San Bernardino County court records, Pierce has an extensive criminal history including drug, theft, stalking and disturbance convictions.

The victim’s vehicle was damaged, but there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident. It was later determined that the gun Pierce was shooting with was a BB gun.
