
PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A stretch of Palmdale Road/SR-18 is currently closed in both directions following a major injury traffic collision Thursday.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, a crash involving a semi and a sedan was reported at 3:38 p.m., on SR-18 and Wilson Ranch Road. One vehicle was reported to be on its roof.
Scanner traffic reported the crash to be with extrication. San Bernardino County Firefighters requested two air ambulances for a total of two patients. The landing zone for the helicopters will be on Palmdale Road, scanner traffic reported.
Additionally, fire crews have requested a Haz-Mat response for an approximately 125-gallon diesel leak coming from the semi.
Traffic on Palmdale Road has been stopped in both directions and it’s currently unknown how long the closure will last for.
The California Highway Patrol will investigate the cause of the incident.
