Phelan man arrested after shots fired during an argument

PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Chad Thompson, 28, of Phelan was arrested after he allegedly fired three rounds into the air following an argument with his girlfriend, officials said.

It happened at 1:28 am, on Saturday, July 21, 2018, in the 12000 block of Oasis Road in Phelan.

According to a sheriff’s news release, Thompson and his girlfriend were drinking alcoholic beverages when the two got into an argument and the girlfriend walked away from the residence.

“Thompson went outside with a gun and fired three shots into the air,” stated Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Pamela Hoffman. “Deputies were called to the scene by area neighbors who heard the gunfire.”

Deputy Jeff Henry investigated the incident and arrested Chad Thompson for discharging a firearm in a negligent manner. Thompson was booked at High Desert Detention Center and was later released on a bail bond.
