Pedestrian Struck and Killed on SR-138 Near Sheep Creek Road in Phelan
PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday night on State Route 138 near Sheep Creek Road, prompting a hard closure of the westbound lanes.
The incident occurred around 8:11 p.m. on February 10, 2026, in the westbound lanes just west of the Sheep Creek Road offramp.
The crash involved a white 2020 Ford Fusion and a pedestrian who, according to the reporting party, ran in front of the vehicle.
Emergency personnel responded and confirmed the pedestrian had died at the scene. At 8:49 p.m.
The Ford Fusion involved in the crash had major front-end damage. The hood was crumpled on the passenger side, the right headlight area was crushed, and the windshield was shattered with a large impact area.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
