Pedestrian struck, airlifted Thursday night on Dos Palmas Road in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A pedestrian struck by a vehicle was critically injured and airlifted Thursday night in the City Of Victorville.

It happened at about 8:33 PM, on February 8, 2024, on Dos Palmas near Highway 395. 

Victorville City Fire responded and requested an airship. A Reach medical helicopter landed on Dos Palmas and the pedestrian was subsequently airlifted to a trauma center. 

A vehicle with flashers on was pulled onto the dirt shoulder and remained at the scene as deputies, photographed shoes and other clothing left behind in the middle of the roadway. 

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said the unidentified pedestrian was reportedly walking in the middle of Dos Palmas Road.

A 2016 Hyundai was traveling on Dos Palmas, was unable to avoid the pedestrian and he was struck by the vehicle. The driver of the Hyundai remained on scene.

Rodriguez said the pedestrian, an adult male, was transported to an LA County hospital. His identity is still unknown, as is his condition.

The investigation is being handled by the Victorville Police Department, and additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
