Pedestrian Killed In Phelan Hit-And-Run Crash Identified As San Bernardino Woman

PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 38-year-old San Bernardino woman was killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run crash, authorities said.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Linda Teyechea, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:58 a.m. on May 2, 2026.

According to a written statement from the California Highway Patrol, the CHP Barstow Dispatch Center broadcast a vehicle versus pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Neilson Road, east of Sheep Creek Road.

Officers from the CHP Victorville Area and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded and located Teyechea lying on the dirt shoulder.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the female was walking in the roadway of Neilson Road east of Sheep Creek Road,” according to the CHP statement.

For reasons still under investigation, an unknown vehicle traveling westbound struck the pedestrian, who came to rest on the right shoulder. The driver fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Alcohol or drugs are not known to be a factor, officials said.

The investigation is being handled by the CHP Victorville Area. Anyone with information is urged to call Officer W. Benson at 760-241-1186.
