Pedestrian hit, killed on 15 Freeway in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A pedestrian was struck and killed on the 15 Freeway in Victorville Thursday morning, forcing all lanes to close.
The collision occurred at 1:45 a.m. on the northbound 15 Freeway at D Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol logs, a male pedestrian who was wearing a blue shirt and shorts was witnessed on the right shoulder of the freeway at about 1:40 a.m.
About 5 minutes later, at 1:45 a.m., another person called to report the pedestrian had been struck by a truck-tractor combination in the fast lane. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders.
As of 2:50 a.m., all northbound lanes are closed, and traffic is being diverted off the D Street off-ramp. It’s unknown how many hours the closure will last.
The circumstances of the collision were not immediately confirmed. This is a developing story, more information will be updated as it becomes available.

UPDATE @ 9:20 am – According to CHP, the pedestrian was identified as a 30-year-old male from Apple Valley, CA. The pedestrian’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
