LUCERNE VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- A pedestrian sustained major injuries after he was struck by multiple vehicles on Highway 18 near Old Woman Springs Road on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 6:45 PM.
According to a witness, the victim is described as an older male and a resident of Lucerne Valley. He had just picked up dinner at the China House restaurant and was attempting to go back across the Highway when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 18. As the male laid in the roadway a second vehicle traveling westbound did not see the pedestrian and struck him a second time. Both vehicles remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Residents who live in the area explain there are no street lights, sidewalks, or marked crosswalks.
The pedestrian was transported by ground ambulance to St. Mary’s hospital where an airship was requested to transport him to Loma Linda Medical Center, according to CHP incident logs.
