Pedestrian airlifted after hit-and-run on Kiowa Road in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A pedestrian was airlifted to a trauma center Wednesday evening after he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene.
The incident happened on September 12, 2018, at around 7:45 pm, in the 11900 block of Kiowa Road in Apple Valley.
Apple Valley Fire, American Medical Response (AMR) and Apple Valley deputies responded to the scene and located a male victim, identified as Eli Espinosa, 61, of Apple Valley, down in the middle of the roadway suffering from a broken leg.
The vehicle that struck the pedestrian left the scene with no regard to the victim.
Paramedics transported the victim via ground ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center and subsequently airlifted him via County Fire’s helicopter H325 to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
