Pedestrian Airlifted After Hit and Run in Victorville

Hit and Run AccidentVICTORVILLE – (VVNG.com)- Police have arrested two suspects involved in the hit-and-run on Saturday night that left one woman seriously injured.

On Saturday, October 18, 2014 at approximately 6:38 PM, Sheriffs dispatch received multiple calls reporting that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a silver-colored Chevy Suburban occupied by two males.

A Sheriff’s helicopter was called in to assist in the search of the suspect vehicle.

The pedestrian, described as a female, was struck in the intersection of Loraine Drive and Seventh Street in the city of Victorville. The female sustained life threatening injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center. She was later transported by Mercy Air to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

A short time later the suspect vehicle was located at the intersection of Dos Palmas and Cahuenga in Victorville. According to Officer Gordon with the California Highway Patrol Victorville division, The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed attempting to evade capture. The driver attempted to make a right turn onto northbound Cahuenga from west bound Dos Palmas. The driver of the vehicle lost control and slid sideways into a fence at that corner.

Hit and RunAfter crashing the vehicle both suspects fled on foot from the scene.

The passenger in the SUV returned back to the scene while deputies where conducting their investigation and started to cooperate with authorities. He also informed CHP officials who the driver of the vehicle was.

The driver was later located and taken into custody by the San Bernardino County Sheriffs department.

As of Sunday, the condition nor identification of the pedestrian was has been updated. More information will be updated as details become available.
