VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 39-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed in Victorville overnight.
On Friday, July 19, 2019, at about 11:44 P.M., Deputies from the Victorville Station and rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision near the intersection of Amargosa Road and Luna Road.
Responding deputies determined that a white 2003 Ford Expedition traveling southbound Amargosa Road struck a white male adult that stepped out in front of the vehicle, stated sheriffs officials.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The driver of the Ford and two passengers were uninjured, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The Victorville City Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is continuing the investigation of the collision.
Amargosa Road remained closed in both directions for several hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses.
Amargosa Road was reopened in both directions at approximately 5:55 A.M.
The name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
