Passengers flying out of LAX can now fly high with their weed

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Travelers flying out Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) have one more thing to think about when planning a trip, how much weed to pack.
That’s right, for the first time, passengers flying high out of LAX can now legally bring their marijuana onboard.
The new policy is a direct result of Proposition 64 which legalized pot in California. Passengers 21 and older are now legally allowed to carry a maximum of 28.5 grams of the flower or 8 grams of the condensed variety.
Something to keep in mind is that marijuana is legal in CA but not in every state. So, if you are planning on flying out-of-state remember that pot may be illegal at your destination.
Police warn that any amount of weed is still a federal crime and TSA agents may find your stash.
According to TSA spokeswoman Lorie Dankers, agents won’t take it away but will summon the police and let them deal with it.
“TSA’s focus is on terrorism and security threats to the aircraft and its passengers,” Dankers said in an email.
If you want to play it safe, the best advice would be to leave your stash at home and buy some more when you arrive at your destination.
