Passenger Ejected and Severely Injured in Early Morning Rollover Crash in Adelanto

ADELANTO, Calif. ( – A crash in Adelanto resulted in critical injuries after a passenger was ejected just after midnight on Saturday.

It happened on January 27, 2024, at approximately 12:14 a.m., when a 2002 Cadillac Escalade, traveling north on Jonathan Street near Seneca Road, lost control, leading to a single-vehicle crash.

According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez, the rear-seat passenger was ejected from the car, receiving severe injuries and subsequently being rushed to Loma Linda Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The driver and another passenger were also injured in the crash. While the additional passenger declined medical assistance at the scene, the driver was transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities have launched an in-depth investigation into the circumstances of the crash to determine the cause.

Resident, Jackie P., was one of the first people on scene and expressed her distress on Nextdoor, where she says community members rushed to the victims’ aid amid delayed emergency response.

Jackie described the efforts to keep the ejected passenger, identified as Kevin, conscious while talking to the other occupants to keep them calm.

“According to Jackie, ‘He and his cousins were out on a night that was supposed to be fun.’ However, she expressed with somberness that following the accident, ‘Kevin’s pulse was slowly fading.'”

Jackie also raised concerns about the ongoing safety issues on Seneca Road, highlighting the need for increased street lighting to prevent future tragedies.

Jackie, who despite not knowing Kevin personally, expressed a universal sentiment of empathy towards him:

“Kevin, I pray that you are okay man, we don’t know you but we love you! We will be praying for you and your family,” Jackie wrote in her post.

Details about the driver’s condition or that of any passengers were not available at the time of reporting. The Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station is investigating the crash.
