Pair Arrested After High Speed Chase

(VVNG.com)-Two suspects arrested following a late-night high-speed chase that began in Victorville and ended on the 215 freeway. At approximately 12:54 a.m., on August 2nd San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call reporting a pursuit in the area of Mojave Drive and Del Rey Drive in the city of Victorville. Per scanner traffic, the chase began when the suspect vehicle failed to yield.

The driver of a grey Toyota 4-door sedan with dark tinted windows, continued to the 15 freeway heading southbound. The suspect sped down the freeway at speeds from 85 miles per hour up to 120 miles per hour. At 1:05 a.m. air units from the Devore area joined to assist in the increasingly dangerous high-speed chase. The chase went from the 15 freeway and Bear Valley Road area to state route 138 and the 15 freeway split in approximately 10 minutes.

Soon after the suspect reached and merged onto the 215 freeway south. At 1:23 a.m., less than a half hour after the pursuit started and approximately 40 miles into the chase the suspect was safely stopped near the 215 freeway and 210 freeway interchange.

According to scanner reports the two occupants of the vehicle complied with the officer requests once the vehicle had been stopped. The driver was quickly taken into custody without further incident and the vehicle was then cleared by pursuing San Bernardino County Sheriffs.

It is unclear what the motive for the pursuit was at this time. Any additional information will be provided as it is received.
