HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) – The City of Hesperia takes great pride in the aesthetic appeal of its neighborhoods and recognizes residents who contribute to enhancing the overall beauty of the community. Through the Pride Enhancement Program (PEP), Hesperia residents have the opportunity to be rewarded for their efforts in maintaining and improving the curb appeal of their homes.
Do you have a neighbor who consistently impresses everyone with the impeccable condition of their property? Or perhaps your home’s landscaping regularly receives compliments from friends and family? It’s time to nominate these deserving individuals, or even yourself, for a chance to be recognized and rewarded!
The chosen PEP winner will receive a fantastic prize package, including a $500 gift card to Harbor Freight and a $500 gift card to Tractor Supply Co., totaling an impressive $1,000 in awards. In addition, the winner will proudly display a Pride Enhancement Program lawn sign on their property, symbolizing their commitment to maintaining a beautiful and welcoming neighborhood.
Selection Criteria and Process:
The Hesperia City Council Advisory Committee will carefully evaluate nominations based on various features and factors. These include manicured landscaping, drought-tolerant landscaping, rock-scaping, the presence of flowers, plants, and trees, driveway resurfacing, window enhancement, exterior paint, and overall curb appeal.
To be considered for the Pride Enhancement Program, simply submit a nomination form via email to kbrady@cityofhesperia.us or deliver it to Hesperia City Hall. It is essential to ensure that your nomination form reaches the office by the 15th of the month preceding each Hesperia City Council Advisory Committee meeting. These meetings are generally scheduled for March, June, September, and December, but please note that dates are subject to rescheduling and cancellation. Nominee and applicant names will remain confidential during the selection process.
Alongside the nomination form, please include a minimum of two and a maximum of five clear and captivating before-and-after photos that showcase the transformation of the nominated property. High-quality images from different angles are highly appreciated.
Additional Program Details:
- Self-nominations are more than welcome, encouraging individuals to embrace their pride in maintaining their residences.
- Only Hesperia residents are eligible for nomination, with residency verified through their water utility bill.
- Nominees can only be recognized as a Pride Enhancement Program winner once throughout the life of the program.
- City employees, including those residing in a home owned by the City employee, are not eligible for nomination.
- Incomplete applications may not be accepted, and for fair consideration, it is crucial to provide all required information and photographs.
Nomination forms will be valid for 12 months. After this period, they will be discarded. However, don’t hesitate to submit a new nomination form to recognize outstanding contributions to the community.
