SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A weeklong crime suppression effort conducted across multiple San Bernardino County communities resulted in 55 arrests, the seizure of 60 firearms, and more than one pound of narcotics.
The operation, identified as Operation Consequences, took place from March 30 through April 5, 2026, in Apple Valley, Victorville, San Bernardino, Loma Linda, Fontana, Colton, and Rialto.
Authorities said investigators served 19 search warrants during the one-week operation, including a focused enforcement effort in San Bernardino and surrounding communities on April 4.
During the operation, investigators contacted gang members and people prohibited from possessing firearms.

Officials said the enforcement action led to 43 felony arrests and 12 misdemeanor arrests. Investigators also seized more than one pound of narcotics, including suspected methamphetamine, along with 60 firearms, nine of which were identified as ghost guns.
According to the written statement, the operation involved investigators from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, San Bernardino County Probation, California Highway Patrol, Department of Homeland Security Investigations, San Bernardino Police Department, the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, multiple patrol stations, Upland Police Department, Ontario Police Department, Fontana Police Department, Barstow Police Department, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Operations, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums Street Enforcement Team also conducted proactive patrols in the High Desert and surrounding jurisdictions during the operation.
Officials said Proposition 36, titled “The Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act,” was applied to two of the arrests. Voters passed the measure on Nov. 5, 2024, and it took effect Dec. 18, 2024. The sheriff’s department said the law reformed multiple statutes tied to Proposition 47 and added new Penal and Health and Safety code sections that can be used during arrests when appropriate.

The Sheriff’s Department said the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors authorized funding for countywide crime suppression efforts aimed at increasing law enforcement services tied to quality-of-life issues affecting local communities.
Authorities said Operation Consequences will continue over the next several months in the High Desert and in sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino, with the goal of curbing violent crime, disrupting targeted criminal street gangs, and locating people who are illegally possessing, manufacturing and trafficking firearms.
