Ontario man, 21, arrested following pursuit in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 21-year-old Ontario man was arrested for driving under the influence after he led Victorville deputies on a short pursuit Tuesday night.

At about 9:33 pm a couple of Victorville deputies on patrol attempted a traffic stop on a 2011 Nissan Altima for suspicion of driving under the influence in the area of Diamond and Hook Boulevard.

The driver, later identified as Kristain Mikal Rogers, failed to yield and led the deputies on a short pursuit, officials said.

According to a sheriff’s news release, “during the pursuit, Rogers turned off the vehicle’s headlights while exceeding the posted speed limit and ignoring stop signs. The pursuit came to an end on Mojave Drive, near Mesa Linda Avenue, when Rogers stopped the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident. Two passengers in the Nissan were uninjured.

Rogers, who was found to be on felony probation, was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for driving under the influence, evading a Peace Officer with disregard for safety, and violation of felony probation. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on December 19, 2019.
