VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A Victorville home sustained significant damage when a vehicle went crashing thru the garage and into the living room Friday morning.
Firefighters with San Bernardino County Fire responded at 10:38 am, to the 15500 block of Naples Lane reference a vehicle into a structure with extrication required.
“With reports of a vehicle into a house and possible occupants trapped we dispatched a full extrication response, which includes our Heavy Rescue unit from station 305 in Hesperia along with 1 Paramedic engine, 1 truck company and 1 battalion chief,” stated San Bernardino County Fire Captain Jeff Allen.
The Heavy Rescue unit, Rescue 40 is a specialized resource in the high desert that is used on more complex rescue situations like this call had the potential to be.
“Fortunately, no one in the home was injured and the occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries,” stated Allen.
An elderly man, believed to be the driver was placed on a gurney and transported by AMR to a local hospital. Another person from the vehicle declined medical treatment at the scene.
Victorville city’s Building and Safety was requested to respond to the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Victorville Sheriff’s Station.
