One person airlifted after crash in Hesperia Wednesday

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — One person was airlifted to a trauma center following a major injury traffic collision Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at about 5:38 pm on August 14, 2019, at the intersection of Locust Avenue and Eucalyptus Street in Hesperia and involved a white 2006 Dodge Ram and a Toyota minivan.

The crash left two people inside the pickup truck trapped and requiring extrication. San Bernardino County Firefighters used heavy rescue tools to free the occupants.

Firefighters requested a helicopter to land in a field at Eucalyptus Street and Eleventh Avenue, across the street from Fire Station 304.

A male from the truck was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital with less serious injuries. A young child was also transported to a hospital as a precaution.

The intersection is controlled by a 4-way stop sign and the posted speed limit is 40 mph.

Deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station are investigating the collision.
