One Arrested After Firing Shots Into The Air in Adelanto

ADELANTO-(VVNG.com): One man was arrested and two vehicles were impounded after shots were fired in the area of Koala and Rancho Roads on Sunday evening. Deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to a report of shots fired that came in at about 4:44 p.m. Witnesses described the shots as “high powered” shots then said they heard vehicle tires screeching as several vehicles sped away from the scene.

Witnesses told deputies that at least five vehicles, including the suspect vehicle left heading north on Bellflower toward Air Expressway. Within about 10 minutes a deputy spotted what appeared to be the suspect vehicle along with three additional vehicles, near Rancho Road west of Koala Road. The vehicles continued on southbound on Koala Road and were stopped just as they reached Industrial Way. Four deputies arrived as backup to the deputy on scene.

Victor Valley Station Watch Commander, Cpl. McCurley said,”There was a truck club meeting and they were out there having fun and taking pictures. Someone thought it was a good idea to fire shots in the air.”

Upon arrival, deputies identified the suspect and located a hand gun with a matching description inside his vehicle. He was detained and was also found to have a suspended driver’s license which caused his vehicle to be impounded. A second vehicle checked at the scene was also found to have a driver with a suspended license, causing that vehicle to also be impounded.
