VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): One person was airlifted with life-threatening injuries and two others were transported to local hospitals after a three vehicle collision Monday morning. Victorville deputies and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to southbound 395 just south of Luna Road at about 5:31 a.m. Upon arrival they found a gray Nissan Sentra, a brown Nissan Frontier and a Dodge truck all with major damage.
According to San Bernardino County Sheriff officials, the collision occurred when the driver of the Sentra crossed into southbound lanes while driving in a northbound direction striking a 2012 Dodge truck head on. A Nissan Frontier then broadsided the Sentra causing the driver to become trapped.
The driver of the Sentra was extricated from the vehicle and was subsequently transported by ground ambulance to Mesa Linda Park to prepare to be airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of major life-threatening injuries.
At this time the cause of the collision is believed to be an intoxicated driver. Southbound lanes were closed for over an hour for cleanup and investigation.
