VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): A Saturday night foot pursuit lead to a hit-and-run accident injuring a Deputy Sheriff. The incident occurring at approximately 8:40 PM began simply as the officer stopped to check on two pedestrians, one apparently intoxicated. Upon contact the male ran, causing the deputy to pursue them on foot.
As the officer began to chase, a woman in a white compact car hit the officer with her vehicle near La Paz Drive and Pamela Street and failed to stop. The two men were detained shortly after, but the driver that had hit the officer was still being sought.

“We haven’t released the involved deputy’s name, he was treated and released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries sustained when he was struck by the vehicle,” said Sheriff’s Public Information Officer, Jodi Miller..
The investigation is ongoing, if you have any information regarding the incident you are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (760) 241-2911.
