VICTOR VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the San Bernardino mountains and a wind advisory for the deserts on Sunday.
The wind advisory is expected to produce 20-35 MPH winds with gusts up to 50 MPH.
According to the NWS, snow levels will fall to 4,000-5,000 feet and local mountains are expected to receive 4-8″ of snow along with strong winds and dense fog.
The Victor Valley has a 30% chance of showers with precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Scattered showers on Sunday will be most widespread in the afternoon and evening.
Sunday’s high in the City of Victorville will be a chilly 49 degrees.
Motorists traveling in the mountains should be prepared for snow, fog, strong winds, slick roads, and low visibilities, especially Sunday evening.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles and motorist are reminded to use extra caution.
