VICTOR VALLEY-(VVNG.com): AAA is leaving intoxicated individuals with no excuse to drink and drive by offering a free ride and towing on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. As in years past AAA is offering their Tipsy Tow program in order to get motorist home safely after their New Year’s Eve festivities.
Alcohol impairment contributes to approximately 1 out of 3 traffic related deaths with an average of one alcohol impaired death occurs about every 45 minutes. AAA officials reminds drivers to take all safety precautions it they plan on ringing in the new year with one or more alcohol containing beverages. Drivers should plan in advance with a designated driver, planning to stay with a friend or by taking a cab.
AAA officials said, “Driving is a privilege that many Americans enjoy. Consuming alcoholic beverages is also something that many adults take part in. However, these two activities do not go together and should never be combined.”
Tipsy Tow is available to both members and nonmembers in all AAA club territories in Southern California. Intoxicated motorists needing transportation anytime between 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31st to 6:00 a.m. on Friday, January 1st can call (800)222-4357 to have you and your vehicle transported to your home by a local AAA tow truck (or AAA Contract tow truck) absolutely free of charge.
