Sergio Marchionne has been CEO since 2004 and along with Chairman Luca di Montezemolo have steadily increased the standing of the company from one that once looked to be in financial trouble, to one that can now be seen as an example of success. As of 2009, amid the world’s major financial crisis, Fiat is strong enough to take a controlling stake in struggling American automaker Chrysler,” according to the website lifeinitaly.com.

Victorville Motors has been serving the High Desert since 1970, making it one of the oldest dealerships in the area. The dealership which is already home to Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram has invited “Desert Fiat Studio” to join its family, and expected to open in early 2015.

Prior to this new announcement the nearest place to purchase a new fiat would have been Ontario, which is about 40 miles from the Victor Valley. The studio will be located on 14850 La Paz Place in the city of Victorville, in what use to be the temporary DMV office just across the street from Desert Community Bank located just north of Roy Rogers Drive. The new location will give the dealership prime location visible from the 15-freeway.

Desert residents are excited about the new development coming to the area, realizing that the population growth is bringing not only new options, but new employment opportunities to the area.
